defencetechjobs ("the Site") is operated by Andro Mathewson as a sole trader. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR.

What we collect

Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use this only to send you the defencetechjobs newsletter and related updates. We do not share your email with third parties.

Email correspondence. If you contact us at [email protected], we receive and store your email and message content for the purpose of responding.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and abuse prevention purposes.

What we do not collect

We do not currently use analytics tools that track individual users. We do not place advertising or marketing cookies. We do not collect applicant data — applications go directly to the hiring company's site.

Legal basis

Newsletter signups: consent (you opted in). Email correspondence: legitimate interest in responding to you. Server logs: legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.

Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK ICO at ico.org.uk.

Data retention

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. Email correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the matter and a reasonable period thereafter.

Third parties

The Site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The domain registrar and email forwarding provider is Cloudflare. Our newsletter is sent via a third-party email provider (currently being set up — this policy will be updated when in place).

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when we add new tools or change how we process data. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
